He is developing in leaps and bounds. His second tooth is about to come in, his blond/brown/strawberry fuzz is getting longer, and he is getting stronger and stronger. He now readily transfers toys from hand to hand and makes cross-body reaches. From a sitting position, he will lunge forward towards a toy that he wants, and sit back up with ease, or launch himself into a semi-crawling position. He seems to be trying to crawl but mostly he ends up scooting himself backwards several feet by pushing up with his forearms and then sliding backward.
In just the last couple of days he has starting trying to pull to a stand by holding onto our legs and arms.
He has been really experimenting a lot lately with making noises of different pitches and volumes. Auntie Lindy thinks he has an especially high interest in music, sounds and rhythms. He also has a great gargling noise that he loves to do while lying on his back (usually while getting his dipe changed!) He continues to babble-- no "mama" sounds yet but he always smiles or laughs when we say it to him!
Overall, T is more and more interested in the world around him, and with interacting with the things and people he sees. It is such a joy to watch him learn and grow! He is sweet-natured and just a pleasure to spend time with.

We gave T his first taste of solid-ish food yesterday- avocado! As you can see, he didn't seem to love the taste too much! Nevertheless, he made it clear that he wanted more bites... next up is probably sweet potato.

I love this account of our big 6-month old boy. He looks so handsome in his bula shirt. The "first taste of solid food" photos are priceless. My favorite is the last one!
ReplyDeleteAHHAHA I love the last picture too! Auntie Amy makes that face all the time. :D Can't wait to see the boy in less than two weeks! And you and Bob too... :D
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to meet him! I can't believe that it is almost finally here! Love ya'll!!
ReplyDeleteI really want to make the first picture my new screen saver, but my computer is not cooperating. Time to call in the professionals/AKA, Brooks.
ReplyDeleteEvery time, Uncle Philip and I look at that picture, we both seem to say something along the lines of "Hey...yeah". Its very "Tiki" as UP would say. The last photo is also a favorite. The caption I would add would be something along the lines of "Thanks a lot".
Love, Auntie
The ones of him eating avocado are HILARIOUS!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Auntie Amy
