Mark it with a T

Here are a few pictures of Tressan from the past week. He is 5 weeks old today! I weighed him on Tuesday and he was 10.1 lbs, which is exactly what Bob and I had guessed. Here are a few new things about him:
His eyelashes are growing longer and longer! Just one more way in which he looks like his father. His eyes are still a dark blue/gray color... we will have to wait several months to see if they change to green or brown. He is getting some lovely chubs too.

To calm him down, we just try different things until we find one that works. Bob has the swaddle/shush/jiggle/pacifier method down and that works well in the evenings. Tressan also seems to enjoy going outside (like cousin Haleh!). I'm not sure if it's the cool breeze, the noises, the walking around or the color of the sky (babies' lenses are crystal clear whereas ours are yellowed with age, so he may see a deeper, more brilliant blue than is physiologically possible for us to see...!!) but we have certainly enjoyed taking a lot of evening walks together. He continues to enjoy bathing, hearing us singing, and lying on our chests.
During the day I will often put him in the stretchy wrap if he seems agitated. Most of the time, he calms down and peers out very adorably while I walk around the house getting things done. I think it reminds both of us of when T was in utero. After awhile he usually dozes off and I can tuck his head into one of the side panels.

We have seen a few smiles!  Most often, it's mid-morning that he is most alert and calm.. he will gaze at us with wide, bright eyes, mimic our expressions a little bit, and sometimes mirror back a smile.
Tressan's night time sleep is getting a little more regular, but still, every night is an adventure! Most nights we get a minimum of two 2-3.5 hour stretches of sleep. I like to get a good 8 hours a night minimum, so it has been a challenge. But somehow T manages to be at his most lovable and sweet during those midnight feedings, with his perfectly round face, warm sleepy limbs and little hungry lip smackings. Plus, there is hardly anything nicer than a sweet-milky smelling baby dozing off to sleep on your chest.

Don't forget to mark it with a T!
